The Aviation Society or TAS as it is widely known, is based at Manchester Airport.  It is the largest aviation society outside London with over 1200 members and 38 years of unbroken experience. The aim of the Society is to bring together people with the same interest and provide them with the best facilities and information possible. Manchester Airport Plc, the Airlines and other aviation related organisations often actively support us in respect of this aim. In addition to Society activities we have a commercial arm that runs The Aviation Shops and we also provide professional tour guides at the Aviation Viewing Park.

TAS has a very active discussion forum with over 1100 registered users. It is a very effective way of communicating about anything relevant to the society and the aviation world. In the coming months we hope to divide the forum into subject categories.

TAS members automatically receive a monthly copy of “Winged Words” the society magazine. 

Within, you will find regular sections detailing the society activities, a comprehensive review of Manchester Airport news and movements, colour photographs, regional reports, spotting abroad, overflights, european fleet updates and much, much, more.

Published by TAS, Flight Check is the only official monthly timetable to list all scheduled and charter flights in and out of Manchester Airport. Listing dates, times, types, destinations and frequency, together with airline news and other interesting features.

Flight check is published at the beginning of each month and is an invaluable asset to all aviation enthusiasts.
